i feel like when people are experiencing racism,
regardless of race,
it’s everyone’s issue.
it affects us all.
well in my eyes it does.
as black people,
we can relate to intense racism from some white people.
we can even experience it from the other races as well.
well i missed the memo when it has nothing to do with “us”,
then its not our issue.
one of my home-vixens let me know that couple minutes ago.
of course i ran to the foxhole.
so this video is making its rounds on facebook.
its an older white she-jackal telling a older latina to speak english.
well check it out…
i would have socked her.
anyway so i sent the video to a couple people in texts.
i always like to hear people’s opinions about things like this.
a few of my people were disgusted,
but like i said my “race issues” home vixen responded:
“that ain’t got nothing to do with us”
excuse me?
i was legit shocked at her answer.
so then i said:
“well its racism so doesn’t it?”
so she said:
“jamari when does that community cape for our black asses?
did they protest during ferguson?
michael brown?
trayvon?
they stay silent until its there issues
let them fight their own battles”
“that seems like fucked up logic tho”
“they handled the donald trump issue just fine.
they’ll be ok.
tell them stop being racist towards blacks and i might give a fuck.”
she added the:
…right after.
i had to wonder if i’m being naive?
i didn’t bother to respond.
before i got to my computer,
i had to wonder about other races and racism.
i know of a few latinos/tinas who stood with us during #blacklivesmatters.
hell i saw some whites also protesting in times square for eric garner.
i mean i’m not saying bust out the boots and grab a flag,
but where have people’s compassion gone?
maybe i have a heart?
maybe thats my biggest problem?
so if the issue doesn’t concern black people…
